RVA MakerFest is back! We are thrilled to announce the return of RVA MakerFest with the theme “Resurgence.” We’re looking for engaging and innovative makers from the fields of science, art, technology, sustainability, food, music, crafts, and fashion to bring their skills to the festival. What truly makes this event unique is the opportunity for festival-goers of all ages to participate in each maker’s activity. As we review applications, we will be putting the largest emphasis on interactive demos. Here are the other criteria we consider:
- Uniqueness: Do you have an approach or style to your craft that makes it uniquely you?
- Balance: We try to ensure that the event represents a broad range of makers
- Presence: How are you envisioning your demo to “pull” people in?
- Fun!: Are folks going to leave your demo happy and inspired to make themselves?
