Vendor Application Form

RVA MakerFest will feature over 50 of the region’s most engaging and innovative makers from the fields of science, art, technology, sustainability, food, music, crafts, and fashion. As we review applications, here are the criteria we are considering:

• Interactivity 
  • Have you thought about how to get festival-goers involved in your demo?
• Uniqueness 
  • Do you have an approach or style to your craft that makes it uniquely you?
• Balance 
  • We try to ensure that the event represents a broad range of makers
• Presence 
  • How are you envisioning your demo to “pull” people in?
• Fun! 
  • Are folks going to leave your demo happy and inspired to make themselves?

Booth Info

Most booths will be in an outdoor field. You may bring a canopy if you are placed here (tent weights are mandatory). If your demonstration involves flames, heat, chemicals, gas, etc., you must be in the field. There is also limited space inside the school and under an outdoor overhang. No canopies will be allowed in these locations.

The answers to these questions will help ensure we have a diverse variety of makers. Providing answers is optional. If you are a group, please answer for your President/CEO/Director/etc.

By submitting this application, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

• Event Participation:
  • You grant permission to participate in the RVA MakerFest event, subject to approval by the organizers.
• Information Accuracy:
  • You confirm that all information provided in the application is accurate and complete.
• Rules Compliance:
  • You agree to comply with all event rules, safety guidelines, and instructions provided by the organizers.
• Liability Waiver:
  • You release the RVA MakerFest organizers, sponsors, and venue from any liability for personal injury, property damage, or loss incurred during the event.
• Photo and Video Release:
  • You grant RVA MakerFest and its designees the right to take photographs and record videos of you and your exhibit during the event. You authorize the use of these images and recordings for any purpose, including but not limited to:
    • Event promotion and marketing
    • Educational materials
    • News coverage
    • Social media content
    • Archival purposes
    • This authorization extends to all media formats, without compensation or additional approval.
• Intellectual Property:
  • You retain ownership of your intellectual property but grant RVA MakerFest a non-exclusive license to showcase your work for event-related purposes.
• Cancellation:
  • RVA MakerFest reserves the right to cancel or modify the event due to unforeseen circumstances, without liability to participants.
• Code of Conduct:
  • You agree to behave professionally and respectfully towards other participants, staff, and attendees.
• Age Requirement:
  • You confirm that you are at least 18 years old or have obtained parental/guardian consent to participate.
• Updates:
  • RVA MakerFest may update these terms, and your continued participation constitutes acceptance of any changes.
• By submitting this application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.
• By submitting your information, you’re giving RVA MakerFest permission to email you. You may unsubscribe at any time.
